Jon’s practice is concentrated in the area of plaintiffs’ class action work. Among other matters, he currently represents the interests of claimants in class proceedings against defendants such as the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, United Parcel Service, General Motors, General Dynamics and the Canada Life Assurance Company.
Jon is currently preparing to launch other class actions relating to pensions and benefits, financial services and Competition Act violations. Jon was also involved in the background research for the Walkerton contaminated water claim, and is managing some of the secondary claims arising from that action.
Additionally, Jon has a general litigation practice where he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in matters relating to commercial disputes, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. He also defends corporations charged with regulatory offences and has appeared before a number of administrative boards and tribunals.
